Hanford, California · Kings & Tulare County

Estate planning for Valley families.

Wills, trusts, and the planning that keeps your family out of court — and out of confusion. Based in Hanford, serving Kings and Tulare County.

About the Firm

Plain-English estate planning, from someone who grew up here.

Jonette Montgomery was raised in the Central Valley and has deep roots in the Portuguese farm communities that have shaped Kings County for generations. She opened her Hanford practice to serve the families she grew up around — people who work hard, build things slowly, and deserve an attorney who talks straight.

When you work with this firm, you work directly with Jonette. There are no associates who handle your file while someone else signs the paperwork. She takes the time to explain what a document actually does before you sign it — in plain English, at the kitchen-table level you deserve.

Clients across Hanford, Corcoran, Lemoore, Avenal, and Tulare have found that getting a clear plan in place doesn't have to feel intimidating. It starts with a conversation.

What we do

How we can help your family.

Four areas — all connected, all handled with care.

Estate Planning

Wills, living trusts, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives. For couples doing this for the first time, for parents of newly-adult kids who need a financial power of attorney in place, and for anyone whose plan is older than their grandchildren.

Trust Administration

Helping the trustee — usually an adult child — work through what needs to happen after a parent passes. Notices, accountings, distributions, and keeping siblings on the same page when possible. You don't have to figure this out on your own.

Probate

When there's no trust, or the trust didn't cover everything, the court gets involved. We handle the filings, the timelines, and the family conversations that come with it — so you understand each step before it happens.

Estate Litigation

When families can't agree — contested trusts, trustee disputes, will challenges. Litigation is a last resort, but when it's the right move, you want someone who's ready for it and who will be honest with you about the path ahead.

Who we work with

If any of this sounds like you, let's talk.

  • You and your spouse have been meaning to get a will or trust done for years — and life just keeps getting in the way.
  • Your kids just turned 18 and you realized you can't legally help them in a medical emergency without a healthcare directive and power of attorney.
  • A parent passed and you're the trustee — and you're not sure what comes next or whether you're doing it right.
  • You have an A/B trust from the early 2000s that no one's looked at in twenty years, and the tax law has changed significantly since then.
  • You're a step-parent or in a blended family and you're not sure what happens by default if something goes wrong.
  • A family member passed without a will or trust, and things are getting complicated.
